The Centre was initially
sponsored by a French organisation of Vietnamese living in the town of
Cahors in France.
It is from this that the name for the Centre "Cahors" derived.
The organisation bought the building, set up the Centre and gave it to
the town of Hoi An. They provided sponsorship for three years, from
1979 to 1982.
The Centre is nominally administered by the Hoi An peoples Committee.
Currently an American Charity pays for the children's education and
food.
This program is about to end.
